Kazoo! #155: JULIE DOIRON (album release) / RICH BURNETT / CONSTRUCTION & DESTRUCTION

Kazoo! #155
JULIE DOIRON
Montreal, Sackville, Toronto: the three Canadian cities that have served as home for Julie Doiron while her latest release, So Many Days, has been patiently composed over the past three years. In between moves, Doiron toured non-stop in support of 2009’s I Can Wonder What You Did With Your Day, but also divided her time playing in Gord Downie’s backing band The Country of Miracles and in the collaborative country project Daniel, Fred & Julie. Her thirteenth solo outing, So Many Days documents a life always on the move – with pins dropped across eastern Canada as home bases in between a frantic touring schedule, the energy of a life in constant transition evident in the urgent but poignant songwriting.

RICH BURNETT
Guelph’s own Rich Burnett released his first EP ‘Honey Wasted’ in 2006 and his first full length album ‘Not so Blue’ in January 2010. He sometimes plays solo and has also played recently as “The Great Love” a band fronted by Rich who is joined by Geordie Gordon (The Magic, Salt Lick Kids). You can also find Rich playing lap steel in Bry Webb’s band The Providers.

CONSTRUCTION & DESTRUCTION
Colleen Collins and David Trenaman met in London, Ontario, Canada in about 1994. And Construction & Destruction started in about 2005, or so. MUTATIS MUTANDIS is the fourth album they’ve put together together. They did so in Port Greville, Nova Scotia, where they’ve lived since 2003 in an old house by the sea. They record, themselves and others, in the Quarantine: their living room studio.
